Arts and the Economy - In January 2007, a collaboration between Prof. Pier Luigi Sacco of the University of Bologna, Bob Williams (Senior Research Fellow at VanCity) and Elvy Del Bianco (Research Associate) resulted in the release of "The Power of the Arts in Vancouver: Creating a Great City".

Dr. Sacco encourages us to think of new economic models for Vancouver's development and sustainability, particularly the role of the arts and thus the artists and cultural organizations in the community. With a forward and afterword by Bob Williams, the report makes 14 strong recommendations to the VanCity Board for actions to take to support the development of the arts economy.
